That's why we, your dedicated BCN Nightlife crew, have decided to throw our very own party. We love parties. We love our friends and their friends and our friends-to-be. We like doing nice things for nice people. You might remember our Halloween bash last year... Well, we"re busy cooking up something new and even better.
Tall order, we know.
But Showcase is blessed with five stellar ingredients: great dancers, great DJs, a cool space and tons of cool people lending a hand. That’s only four, you’ll point out, and of course, you’re right. The fifth stellar ingredient is everyone who’ll turn up for this party, including you, dear reader.
So...what is Showcase all about?
As the tagline says, it’s a dance thing...professional dancers showing off their skills and mad dancing on the dance floor (by our fun-loving guests). It’s a dance party for people who love dance and dancing.
Dancing needs music. That goes without saying. The beats will come courtesy of our three talented DJs: DJ Nekta (flying in from London just for this party!), the lovely and talented Sandy Love and our party regular Carlos Vilalta. An international mix for an international crowd! The electro and house sessions will segue into performances by professional dancers that our gifted friends from the La Marea Asociación de Danza have handpicked during a long and highly selective casting process. What exactly awaits us onstage at the Café Noir remains a tightly guarded secret...but I’ll tell you this, expect something fun, surprising and eclectic. This isn’t just a bunch of go-go dancers in shiny boots...
Oh yeah, our selected spot for the night is also something special. Tucked down a narrow street in uptown Barcelona (Muntaner), Café Noir has the fun vibe of a 1970s nightclub, but with a decidedly modern, urban look in black and white. Some of you are probably whining about distances by now: is it far? How will I get there? And all that silliness that all too often gets between us and an amazing night out. How do you get there? Easy. FGC trains to Muntaner. Café Noir is two blocks away. Or take a taxi. You’ll be there in 10 minutes and it’s a cheap ride. So, no more excuses. It’s time to get out of the centre and try something new! Put on your dancing shoes and head uptown. We’ll see you at Showcase!
